Abandon Hope?

Abandon hope, all ye who enter here.

Should that really be hanging over the entrance to motherhood?
You no longer have hope for a full night's rest. A baby requires much during the first few years of life. The next few have you sleeping with one eye open just in case the toddler should get a sudden burst of energy at the worst moment - like during the night. Then you have a very brief interlude as you emerge into the difficult hormonal stage which is really just revving up to introduce the new teenager to you. Then your days of sleeping well are really over! You strain to hear the car in the driveway, then strain to hear the car leave the driveway...Do you finally rest after they are married? I do not know. Mine are all in the revving up to full blown teenage stage.I do however know that God would never want us to abandon hope.

So, abandon hope? Never!
